self-worth

“who are you to you?” my client asks, and i
don’t know how to respond, because i
don’t know what he is asking.
it’s amazing how people
can be the lenses
to the inner perception of yourself.

a person like me understands herself through
the love she has for others.

and so i tell myself,
“i am not the emotions i have
for others,
i am the emotions i have
for myself.”

i am not what’s left of me
at the end of the day,
i am all of me.

i tell myself this, and i
repeat.
